E. Wayne Benedict, LL.M., J.D. (Distinction), B.HRLR (Great Distinction), is an Alberta Barrister and Solicitor with the E. Wayne Benedict Professional Law Corporation, providing legal services to various clients including those of the Calgary firm McGown Cook. Wayne was an editor of the Saskatchewan Law Review (2004-05) and the Alberta Law Review (2005-06), and he was Law Clerk to The Honourable Justice Kenneth Mackenzie and The Honourable Justice Allan Thackray of the British Columbia Court of Appeal (2006-07). Wayne was Sessional Instructor of Labour Law with the University of Calgary Faculty of Law from 2010 through 2016.

Wayne holds certifications in locomotive operations, building construction, and industrial relations and human resources, and he is former president of the Canadian Union of Transportation Employees, Local 1 and its successor, the Canadian Auto Workers, Local 110. He acts for individual employees, labour unions/professional associations, and non-union employers in negotiations, and judicial and administrative dispute resolution forums. Wayne practices predominantly in labour law and employment law, and peripheral areas of civil litigation including: constitutional law (Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Division of Powers), human rights law, privacy law, administrative law (tribunal advocacy and judicial review), and appellate law. Wayne has appeared at all levels of Alberta and federal superior and appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
